I’ve written before to say that angels watch over nations based on scripture and on my own personal experiences. I recently found two scriptures indicating that this is so. One of these is found in Daniel 4 in which King Nebuchadnezzar had a troubling dream in which a “a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven” (Dan 4: 13). Strong’s in blueletterbible.org says that the word “watcher” means angel. In this instance, the angel gave a decree about the king which was interpreted by Daniel.
The angel’s appearance and decree seem to have been prompted by the king’s pride and his desire and actions in exalting himself as God. It is interesting to note that the decree was given in the spirit realm since it was revealed to King Nebuchadnezzar in a dream.
I am awed because God was merciful to the king in revealing the decree to him. Let’s become friends with the Almighty so that He would be pleased with our lives and send watchers who would pass wonderful decrees about us. Blessings!
