Yesterday’s blog taught that angels were the people about whom the prophet Isaiah may have been speaking about when he said that God will speak to His people through men with foreign tongues. Here are some examples:
1. Angels came to Sodom and Gomorrah and warned Lot that God would destroy the city because of its homosexual practices – Gen 19
2. An angel blocked Balaam as he went on his journey to curse Israel – God hates the occult and will not allow anyone to curse His people – Numbers 22
3. Angels announced Jesus’ birth, confirming that He is the Son of God – Lk 2: 14
4. The angel of the Lord announced to a virgin that she will bear the Son of God – fulfilling the word of the prophets. Although the people of Jesus’ day knew the prophecies, they failed to believe that Jesus was the Son of God. They could have confirmed prophecies by questioning His parents.
Hebrews 2: 2 says that “the word spoken by angels was stedfast”. We therefore need to pay earnest heed so that we will be led in the way that we should go. Blessings!
