Who are these two angels?

March 4, 2008

I began this segment by writing a post on “Angels in the house of God” at

http://thelordsangels.wordpress.com/2008/02/26/angels-in-the-house-of-the-lord

There are two angels who appeared repeatedly in the Bible in symbols:

  1. as the two angels covering the ark of the covenant in Moses’ tabernacle (Ex 25: 18-22).
  2. then as the two angels in the house that Solomon built (1 Kings 6: 23-28).
  3. then revealed to Zechariah as ”… the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth” (Zech 4: 14). They were shown in his vision as the two anointed ones/olive trees.

Who are they?

  1. The question was answered in Luke 1: 19 by the Angel Gabriel, who appeared to Zecharias and told him, “… I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God…”

Next time, we will talk more about this revelation. Blessings

God appeared in a dream as an angel

March 1, 2008

God appeared as an angel to Jacob in a dream. Jacob was in an unhappy situation in which he worked for his father in law Laban, who  had been robbing him of wages. Additionally, Laban’s sons accused Jacob of robbing their father because Jacob had increased in wealth as a result of instructions about the mating of the flocks which were given to him in a dream (Gen 30).

Jacob explained the reason for his wealth increase to his wives, saying that God had appeared to him in a dream telling him how to mate the flocks so that they bore (Gen 31: 11-13).

“And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seenall that Laban doeth unto thee

I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.”

Here are the clues:

  1.  God was very direct with Jacob, letting him know directly who was speaking to him
  2. He personalized Himself – for I have seen. I am the God of Bethel
  3. He reminded Jacob of the vow that he had made at Bethel as he ran from Esau  (Gen 28: 11-16).   God had appeared in a dream in which angels ascended and descended from heaven on a ladder, and had promised to multiply his offspring and to bless him in  his father’s homeland.

APPLICATION

We never know when God Himself can appear to us in the form of an angel. He sees us and cares about our circumstances and will remind us of the vows which we need to keep.

He is faithful to His word and keeps His promises to His saints, as He did to Jacob.

God  will reveal to us the means for the acquisition of wealth since He has all knowledge and wisdom.

Let’s trust Him. Blessings and enjoy the weekend.
