Where are they getting their information from?

Many people claim to receive information from angels. However, those who are wise must investigate the power source of these individuals prior to coming under their power. This is because these individuals may very well be witches (Ex 22: 18), wizards (Deut 18:11), necromancers (Deut 18: 11), charmers (Ps 58: 6), enchanters (Deut 18: 10),  consulters with familiar spirits (Deut 18:11).

All of these terms are found in scriptures and refer to people who us incantations, enchantments, practice magic, witchcraft, fortunetelling, has a familiar spirit (demon) , consults with the dead about the future.  In fact, God warned Israel to put away these people from the land and even to kill them. He wanted  to be the one His people consulted about the future:

So why are you trying to find out the future by consulting mediums and psychics? Do not listen to their whisperings and mutterings. Can the living find out the future from the dead? Why not ask your God? (Isa 8: 19)

Why should we refrain from seeking the help of these individuals

a. Devils are the source of their power.

There is a truth in scripture related to idol worship which applies here. God wants His people to avoid idol worship because demons are the power source behind the miracles, signs and wonders. Here are some evidences in scriptures:

Deut 32: 17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

b. Idol worship is equivalent to demon worship

This is similar to the previous point, but I wanted to make it clear. Here is what the scriptures say:

Ps 106: 34-37

They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them

But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works

And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils

And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with , and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood

Also read 1 Cor 10: 19,20

c. The demons which are represented by the idols will lead you astray:

Zech 10: 2  “for the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie and have told false dreams. They comfort in vain..”

King Ahab learnt this the hard way and went to his death. Furthermore, do the witches ever tell you that your departed loved one is in a place of torment? Do they ever tell about Jesus and the need for eternal salvation?

God made us and wants to be worshipped as God. Any nation or person who worships devils or seeks information from them brings a curse on themselves and the wrath of God. Pharaoh thought that his demons were more powerful than God, but the Lord God exposed the futility of serving them by annihilating him and his armies. 

d. Idol/demon worship is accompanied by impurity and other evil works

Scriptures and our knowledge of the occult reveal that idol worship/demon worship/witchcraft is often accompanied by:

• human sacrifice (of innocent blood) which pollutes the land with blood and brings a curse even as Cain was  cursed. DEMONS NEED BLOOD IN OR DER TO GET SOULS INTO HELL.  Israel adopted the practices of the heathen and sacrificed their children in  fire (Ps 106: 38). 1 Kings 21: 16 says that King Manasseh shed innocent blood very much and filled Jerusalem with it. What exactly did he do? He made his son (and others) to pass through the fire and became  a witch (2 Kings 21: 6).

The practice of human sacrifices  causes me to wonder about the power source behind the abortion practice. Is it a disguised satanic source for human sacrifices?

• Idol/demon worship is accompanied by sexual perversion.  Second Kings 23: 7 reveals that the worship of demons was accompanied by ritual homosexuality. Moreover, this was practiced in the house of the Lord.  This explains why nations that accept witchcraft are invaded by this sin and why their churches suffer. 
• Whose report will we believe? God warns us to escape. Let’s seek God’s way and escape His wrath which will come on those who practice witchcraft. Be blessed today!

The masquerade of the witch of Endor

God exposed the true activities of the people who claim to seek information from the after world and spirit guides etc. Here is the unfortunate situation of King Saul who  could no longer hear from God and decided to seek help from a woman with a familiar spirit:

“Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor” (1 Sam 28: 7).

According to Strong’s in blueletterbible.org, someone with a familiar spirit is a  necromancer, one who evokes the dead or  spirit of a dead one.  However, the truth is that  these mediums are actually communicating with demons who impersonate the dead person.

How do I know that this is true? The encounter between the medium and Saul reveals that the she had expected a demon with whom she was familiar  to come forth. However, Samuel himself did so:

1 Sam 28: 11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel

1 Sam 28: 12  And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.

The medium knew that she was disobeying God’s command that His people should not seek help from witches, mediums, fortunetellers etc:

 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God (Lev 19: 31).

God knows that this is satans’ big masquerade to bring people into bondage and to seek worship. He has given prophets who reveal His mind.
