Angels everywhere September 30, 2007

When angels are with you there is really no reason to fear. They will accompany you everywhere you go. If you are walking, for example, they will be on the road, jogging by or walking as well. I first became aware of the presence of two angels in 1999. As I flew back from the United Kingdom to the Caribbean, I could see them flying alongside the airplane. Their names were Shandilar and Shalimar. Shandilar, I think, liked to ride on the nose of the plane. During the years following, I would be aware of their presence at points in time.

In January this year, I was standing at a lonely bus stop on a dark winter’s night awaiting the arrival of the bus. There was a light to medium snowfall. Four to five young men jogged by at various intervals dressed in jogging gear (some in sleeveless tee shirts). Were they angels? I doubt that joggers jog in snowfall. Angels could be dressed as beggars on the street, a mother with a child, a businessman, a traveller at airports. You will know them if you love God.

Guess what, friends. Angels are always around us. The question is whether or not we are aware of their presence. Hope you have the joy and peace that comes with their presence.

The angel’s warning about the hurricane September 29, 2007

She was quite busy but noticed that the man seemed a little lost and in need of help, so she took a few minutes to stop and talk. As they did so, he told her his problem and she was able to assist by sharing the information she had on the issue. As they talked, he asked her about her origins and they talked about that part of the world. During the conversation he asked her if her island experiences hurricanes. She said, yes, but they do not do much damage because angels surround and protect it. Two days later she learnt that  a tropical storm had assailed her  country but had not done much damage. That man must have been an angel.

A lady told me that an angel borrowed her pen for a few minutes, although at the time she did not realize that he was an angel. He was very concerned about returning it to her, although she had several and would have been happy to let him have it. She later left the building where she met the angel, going on her way to collect some items from another individual. She heard in her spirit that she should hold that pen so that the lady would be generous to her. She got more than she anticipated when she left the place. Do you think that she would throw that pen away? Never!

I wrote on Monday about angels feeding people. As I wrote my blogs, a middle aged Asian woman came into the library and sat at a computer directly opposite me. She broke the library rules by first taking out a small bottle of “Poland” water occasionally and drinking from it. Next, she periodically took out a small, square plastic bag which held a small, flat cake looking like a cookie. I kept looking at her, wondering if she would get caught. As if that wasn’t enough, she also took out an envelope (with the logo from a local bank) and ate something from it.

It wasn’t until Tuesday that I made the connection between the lady’s bottle of water, the cake in the plastic bag and the bank envelope with Elisha. Was she an angel trying to demonstrate the lesson for me? I hope so. I had a big laugh about it. I pray that the bank has some unexpected and pleasant surprises. In our context, some of us may be ready to give up because of the lack of some necessities, not necessarily literal water and bread. God will send angels to guide you to the source of supply.

Have a great day!

Angels have been known to either lead people to or bring food supplies to people in need. Elisha had this experience as he lay under a juniper tree in the desert, fearful that Queen Jezebel would find and kill him. An angel of the Lord brought him food and water twice. That food from heaven was so nourishing that he was able to walk for 40 days without eating (1 Kings 19: 5-8).

Jesus also received food from angels after he ended his 40 day fast in the wilderness (Mt 4: 11; Mk 1: 13;).

Wouldn’t you love to have this wonderful privilege of being fed by angels? How they love us so! Angels, we love you too.

Have you ever been in need of help then met someone who gave you a message or information that helped tremendously? That person could very well have been an angel. People in the bible experienced the guidance of angels in ways that were obvious to them. For example, the Lord guided the Israelites through the wilderness in the form of a cloudy pillar in the days and a fiery pillar in the nights (Ex 13: 21, 22). The Lord later called this cloud “my angel” (Ex called Himself “the angel of my presence” (Ex 32: 34). Here is one man’s testimony about the guidance of angels:

Angels at work in the earth September 20, 2007

Some of the work of angels in the earth can be derived from examples in the Bible. We need to know about these because we can pray for the same blessings to happen in our times. These include the following: 1. Surrounding cities in order to protect the inhabitants. Angels surrounded Elisha’s city when he was in threat of being captured by enemies (2 Kings 6). While praying in the capital city of my nation in 2005, I saw a vision of angels (a cloud of white) over the area. At another time, I saw a vision of angels like a white line around the island as I prayed for protection during a storm threat. The damage was less than anticipated. Angels can avert storms and hurricanes. As hurricane Ivan headed to St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 2004, the storm veered of course and hit Grenada instead. This was not the first miraculous deliverance that this nation had experienced as a result of prayers and I attribute this to the protection of the angels assigned to the island.

More symbolism of the angels’ nonverbal communication in Ezekiel’s vision September 17, 2007

After puzzling on the meanings of the angels’ message for a long time, the answer was finally given to me a few weeks ago. While some of the meaning of the vision is still unclear, I hope that this will be helpful to readers. Let’s take a further look at those angels in Ezekiel 1:

Ezekiel 1: 5 – the angels appeared also in the form of a man

Angels in the Bible appeared in human forms. Even God Himself appeared as an angel in the Bible as well as in in human form as seen in the following examples:

* He appeared as an angel to Moses (Ex 3: 2- 4).

* God appeared to Joshua as the captain of the host of the Lord prior to his onslaught on Jericho(Josh 5: 13- 15). Could the captain of the host have been Jesus Himself as He is revealed in Revelation 19:11-16 OR Prince Michael as revealed in Revelation 12: 7. Gabriel revealed to Daniel in chapter 10 and 13 that Michael was “one of the chief princes” in the army of the Lord. I know from visions and revelations that the Lord Jesus Himself rides at the head of armies of angels in response to prayer when we intercede. The important truth as we learn from Moses, Joshua, Daniel and John the Beloved is that heaven sends the captains and their hosts to help in times of trouble. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords himself fights on our behalf. Think therefore of the endless possibilities when we pray in the realm of the earth.
* The three persons in the God family visited Abraham in human form in Gen 18: 1 – 2 which said that “… the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; and he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him…”
Ezekiel 1: 8 – each angel had four sides. Since there were four angels in the arrangement, that means that they collectively had 16 sides. This speaks to the many dimensions of God. God cannot be explained in one way. He simply cannot be fathomed. For example, He has many names, many facets of His personality, many ways of looking at things as I found out from personal experience. He is simply too high for the finite human mind to encompass.

Eze 1: 9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.

The joining of the angels’ wings symbolize the Oneness of God. Note that the angels do not turn but go straight forward. They cannot turn because their wings are joined together so they form a circular arrangement. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Everything about God and the realm of the heavenlies is in perfect accord. Therefore, if an angel of the Lord gives you a message from God, you can expect to see the word come to pass in your life.

Ezekiel 1 :14 show s that the angels ran very swiftly. This is the speed with which we can access help in times of trouble. As soon as we call for help, an angel will appear almost immediately. I have also seen this in visions.

Ezekiel 1: 20 – the angels followed the leading of the Holy Spirit. Angels of the Lord work in collaboration with God. Phillip’s experience in Acts 8: 26 is one example. The angel of the Lord told him to go to the desert. As he obeyed, he saw a man in a chariot reading the scriptures. The Holy Spirit then instructed him to go near and preach the gospel. Great blessing comes from God when we obey the instructions of angels.

Ezekiel described the arrangement of the angels as being a wheel in a wheel. While this is still unclear to me, to date I believe that the arrangement must have been something like a Ferris wheel. The meaning of the arrangement is of greater importance, hwoever. God creates things in Circles, which represent:

* the continuity of God. He is everlasting.
* His word always returns to Him once it is deposited in the earth.
* the earth was created as a circle (Isa 40: 22)
* the heavens and the earth will be recreated one day, just as they were recreated in the beginning.
* seasons are continuous and follow the same pattern
* there is a menstrual cycle, circadian cycle and an unending array of human physiological processes that are arranged in cycles.
These are just a few examples of circles or cycles and diligent examination will reveal more.

Hope this has been a blessing!

Hi there. I am still speaking about the meanings of nonverbal messages by angels. Ezekiel saw the most puzzling vision of angels as described in Ezekiel 1: 6-14:

Eze 1 :4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

Eze 1:5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man

Eze 1: 6 And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.

Eze 1:7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.

Eze 1:8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.

Eze 1:9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.

Eze 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.

Eze 1:11 Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.

Eze 1:12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.

Eze 1:13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.

Eze 1:14  And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.

What is the meaning of this vision? Please read the links for explanations:

The angels in Solomon’s temple September 13, 2007

I wrote last time about the angels in Moses’ temple and indicated that angels of the Lord dwell in His presence and will always lead us to the true and Living God and not to any other. This is certainly true of angels in the bible. They talk about God, give us His word and can therefore be considered to be prophets (at least in my mind). Peter said that the word spoken by angels was steadfast. Today, I just want to speak about the angels in Solomon’s temple.
The temple that Solomon built was a multi billion dollar edifice (1 Kings 6). It was plastered with gold, an unbelievable site for the modern day person. That temple was the exact replica of Moses’. In the holy of holies, he made the larger replicas of the cherubims in Moses’ tabernacle. Each was 10 cubits or about 118 inches high (1 cubit = 18 inches). The cherubims were made of olive wood and covered with gold. Their wings touched each other centrally and also stretched out to touch the walls of the temple. HE had cherubims carved into the vail, doors of the temple and its furnishings (1 Kings 6; 7: 29, 36; 2 Chron 3: 1-14). Just like Moses’ tabernacle, he placed the ark containing the law under the wings of the cherubims (1 Kings 8: 6-7); This is why the Jews know God as the one who dwells between the cherubims.

What does this mean?

* God is bigger than anything. The angels literally filled the holy of holies. Even the size of Solomon’s replicas cannot begin to explain His greatness.

* Again, God is surrounded by angels. Sometimes in scripture HE even revealed Himself as an angel (I will speak more on this later).

* Those who are beloved by God are beloved by His angels and vice versa.

* Jesus said that the angels of the little ones always behold the face of the heavenly father (Mt 18: 10). He does not mean little ones in terms of few chronological years, but those who become like children in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. This is why scripture says that we should not touch or harm His anointed. This implies that angels will seek to avenge harm done to the Lord’s people. Moses’ enemies discovered this first hand.

* David said that those who dwell in the “secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty… He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler (Ps 91: 1,4). Jesus in Mt 6 said that the secret place is the place of prayer (Mt 6: 6). Those who dwell in the atmosphere of prayer are awarded with special divine protection from His angels (as in under His wings shalt thou trust).

* The earthly tabernacle is a physical place of worship, but the bible also calls the believer the temple of the Lord. We are always surrounded by His angels. David said that “the angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them” (Ps 34: 7).

Blessings until we see again.
