You may be surprised to learn that angels attend worship services. That is why we must adhere to Paul’s admonition to remember to entertain strangers, since some people (in scriptures) have unknowingly entertained angels (Heb 13:2). There is a church in heaven which is comprised of angels and saints. Paul eloquently described this church in these words:
Hbr 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
Hbr 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect
John saw this church in Revelation and the intercession and worship that took place there. Isaiah got a glimpse in Isaiah 6. There are many more examples of worship in the heavenly assembly of the saints and angels and some of the examples can be found in Rev 4; 5: 8-14; 7: 11-12; 15: 11-17; 19: 1-7;. This worship is wonderful and involves singing, vocal declarations of the awesomeness of God, intercession for the saints, casting down of crowns, falling down on the face in front of the throne of God, waving of palm branches among other activities.
Chief Prince Gabriel attended a worship service in the earthly temple that was officiated by Zechariah the priest and revealed to him the impending birth of his son John the Baptist (Lk 1: 5-19). Zacharias was burning incense, which meant that he was interceding for the sins of the people. The people were praying in the courtyard while he burnt the incense. This created a wonderful atmosphere for God to reveal Himself. We learn in Rev 8: 3-4 that angels also offer incense in heaven, which he offered with the prayers of the saints.
Yes, angels do attend worship services on earth. You will recognize them if you know them in the spirit. Sometimes they color coordinate with each other and with their friends. Why do they come? To share the worship of the sinner saved by grace. They are attracted by the dimensions of our worship, ready to help the heirs of salvation. We love you angels. Blessings!
